The Ohio Scale is a compact digital pocket scale from USA Weigh that the listing says is made for weighing valuables such as gold, silver, coins, gems, medication and herbs. The description gives a maximum capacity of 50 grams with an accuracy of 0.01 gram, while the size menu and specifications also offer a second version rated at 300 grams with an accuracy of 0.1 gram, so the two capacities are worth checking before ordering. The description also calls it a professional scale and, in the next breath, says it is intended for non-professional use, so those two statements do not quite agree. The page says it supports four weighing units, which are ounces, grains, grams and carats, and that it includes auto calibration and an LED backlight.
The backlit display makes readings easy to see in dim light, auto calibration helps keep measurements consistent, and the multiple units let you switch to whichever one suits the item you are weighing. The compact design slips easily into a pocket or bag, which makes it handy for travel as well as for use at home.
This scale suits hobbyists, collectors and anyone who wants a small, accurate scale for everyday use, but it is not meant for professional or trade purposes.
If you are looking for a compact backlit digital pocket scale with four weighing units, take a look at the Ohio Scale.
